Complex problems

Physicians and experts need to manage two languages

Like in Medicine, experts and consultants need to manage two languages, one to deal with the diagnoses and one to communicate with “patients”.

Medical practice deals with an extremely complex adaptive system: the human being. Therefore physicians need to mange two languages: one to deal with science and one to communicate with patients.

Medicine, as all the activities that deal with adaptive systems, requires the use of two languages: one to mange the “system” and one to deal with the “patient”.

The same happens with the unicist approach, it requires the use of conceptual language to deal with the business objects and plain language to communicate with clients.

A critical mass can only be achieved if these two languages are managed:

The Power of Technology

(Business objects – Conceptual language)

&

The Power of Simplicity

(Unicist approach – plain language)

&

The Power of Action

(Facts – Factual language)
______________________________

Critical Mass = Results

Managing unicist ontology based and object driven technologies requires the use of conceptual language. It generates The Power of Technology.

The Power of Simplicity can only be achieved using plain language. Finally, The Power of Action uses factual language.

Therefore, when credibility is given, users do not need to mange the unicist technologies, just their applications. That is the way results are achieved.

Unicist Confederation: a multilocal-cooperative-confederation

To work with a Confederation it is necessary to understand its fundamentals and have the necessary technical-analytical knowledge to generate added value to grow within growth.

But the limit of growth is given by the energy an organization or individual can focus on the market.

BUY AMERICAN: The next step in the automotive industry

BUY AMERICAN is the next step in the American automotive industry. It will happen as soon as Americans accept that employment depends on what they buy. Self-employment is an extreme marginal solution. It just helps to survive.

The Unicist Standard applied to Evolution and Addictions

Successors need to overcome their parents. That is the golden rule for social and individual evolution. This implies that the evolution the next generation depends on its capacity to build upon what already exists.

Metaphorically it can be said that in evolutionary cultures the roof of the parents is the floor of their children. In involutionary cultures the roof of the children is the floor of their parents.

The problem of the new generations of leading cultures is naturally the feeling of inferiority complexes to overcome the existing culture if they are in a leading environment.

A culture involves when individualism prevails. Surviving cultures include necessarily a dominant individualism. This is not the case of subsistent cultures where the group prevails over individuals. Surviving cultures produce survivors who necessarily are multi-addictive and need to behave as fundamentalists.

Addictions are a natural response to an uncertain environment in which a person feels hopeless, impotent and without identity.

When these conditions are given, individuals enter the shelter of addictions.

Addictions are infinite. The more unbalanced an individual is, the “heavier” the addictions he adopts.

Considering the level of self-destruction or destruction four segments can be characterized:

1)    Pleasure addictions: providing instants of extreme pleasure.
2)    Rational/spiritual addictions: providing sensation of absolute empowerment.
3)    Suicidal addictions: providing the power of “dancing” beyond human limits.
4)    Terrorist addictions: providing the power of feeling God.

The Unicist Back2Back Methodology

The Unicist Back2Back Methodology was developed to integrate the client and the expert in a team to solve complex problems.

The use of the Unicist Back2Back methodology sustains the simplicity and reliability of design processes. The design process can be accelerated by the use of the Unicist XD. It was developed to approach complexity and the solution of problems in an uncertain or risky environment.

The need for unicist business diagnostics

Business problems are essentially complex. A problem is complex if it implies a situation that cannot be dominated and someone assumed the responsibility to solve it.

A problem is simple if it is within the boundaries an individual dominates or, being beyond them, the individual doesn’t assume the responsibility to solve it.
1+1 = 2 is a simple problem. But if we reverse the equation assuming the responsibility of achieving the result 2 = ???, infinite solutions are possible.

The apparent paradox is that there are infinite operational solutions but only one fundamental solution.

To deal with complexity individuals need to have both the technical-analytical and fundamental knowledge.

Diagnosing implies assuming the responsibility of achieving a concrete result, having the technical-analytical knowledge of the problem and the knowledge of the fundamentals, including their taxonomies, and defining the problem providing its taxonomic operational solution.

Fundamentals, as the concepts that define the unicist ontology describing the nature of a problem, work as “strange attractors” (see theory of chaos) providing the self-organization of the reality that is being influenced.

Business problems cannot be solved without fundamental knowledge because infinite solutions are not manageable. The lack of understanding of the nature of reality drives necessarily to fallacies or inaction.

A manager is, by definition, an individual who is able to manage complexity in his/her field of responsibility. Therefore diagnosing is the first task to be solved when a complex problem appears.
