Architecture, conceptual design and process automation

The first aspect to be considered is to relate the architecture of a given reality with its conceptual engineering. Conceptual engineering defines a problem’s architecture. To do so it is necessary to structure the ontology of that reality.

Architecture is used to define the concepts of a reality materializing them as solutions, within the possibilities of existing knowledge.

Redesigning the automation of a process implies restructuring its functionality in terms of effectiveness.

Effectiveness = Efficiency*Efficacy*Automation

The concept of effectiveness was discovered at the beginning of the seventies.

The first approach to effectiveness was adding efficiency plus efficacy to achieve the best possible result.

It was an empirical solution developing work processes optimizing the efficiency of the systems and the efficacy of humans.

In those times people were trained to develop the necessary skills to manage the working processes.

The results of this theory were inconsistent. “Change resistance” was the natural explanation for inadequate results.

The research of effectiveness, considered as a complex system, showed that its components should not be added, but integrated. Integration means conjunction. Conjunction, in mathematical terms, means multiplication.

This was the first approach to ontological analysis of working processes, integrating its three components, considered in those times as variables, which at the end were defined as the functions of a concept.

Analyzing a working process from an ontological point of view implies recognizing a different reality of workflow. It is much more flexible and offers much more possibilities than the empirical addition of efficacy + efficiency.

Expanding the boundaries of businesses in order to grow

The expansion of the boundaries of a business implies that those who manage it need to expand the unified field of the business they have in their mind.

Businesses need to be envisioned in their processes and results in order to be managed. The expansion of boundaries can only be managed by those who have a precise vision of the new boundaries that need to be achieved.

Every individual has boundaries in her/his mind that provide the security framework to adapt to the environment. Time to adapt is necessary for an individual to expand the boundaries of a business.

Therefore, the expansion of boundaries of businesses, which is a condition for growth, requires a strategy in which companies need to have the people to make it happen.

The starting actions require the implementation of a “Special Operation Force” (SOF) that has the capacity to deal with the new boundaries having no pre-concepts driven by the preexisting limits.

The natural way to do so is by integrating to this force, members of the company that have the capacity but were not involved in the preexisting boundaries. This avoids change resistance and innovation blindness. An external SOF is needed as a palliative to save energy.

As a transition, for the starting point, an external SOF, provides a minimum strategy that establishes a safer environment for the internal SOF. It is a price that needs to be paid in all the cases in which the new boundaries imply an extension of the concept of the products, services or solutions sold.

Unicist Confederation: the Research Spin-off growth model

This growth stage that began in June implies the expansion of the activity of the Unicist Confederation based on “Research & Developments Spin-offs”.

This model requires the building of specialized business units within existing organizations who invest in the business to deal with some of the technologies or business objects developed at The Unicist Research Institute.

This spin-off model is focused on the use of technologies and objects that solve problems of the adaptive aspects of businesses.

Basically, the fields of specialization are defined by the Unicist Business Objects developed. It includes, in some cases, the development of Business Diagnoses and Strategies in the markets in which the ontological knowledge is available.

35th Anniversary of The Unicist Research Institute

June 1976 was the beginning of the research of evolution in the field of complexity science. It was focused on approaching the nature of reality which required an ontological approach to the basic research and an object driven approach in the field of application.

The research drove to the discovery of the ontogenetic intelligence of nature, the unicist ontology, the unicist logic, the complexity science research methodology and the human ontointelligence.

This provided the basic knowledge to develop more than 3,500 applicative researches in the field of individual, institutional and social evolution that were finished until September 2010. The research work is still ongoing.

We would like to share with you this celebration giving you access to the book on:

Unicist Ethics: The Ethics of Doers

We consider it will allow you to expand your boundaries in work and businesses.

You can access the book at: http://www.unicist.org/deb_doers.php

This anniversary is a very special one, because it follows a turning point in our global expansion that took place during the last year.

Unicist Tweetinar on Unicist Business Objects Building

The Unicist Standard for business objects building defines the norms that business objects have to fulfill to generate results.

Extreme design, the use of unicist modeling and the structure of the ontology of objects allow building unicist business objects.

Unicist business objects (UBO) are encapsulated adaptive systems that produce predefined results that can be inserted in work processes to increase productivity and quality and to save energy.

Classification of objects based on their use

Drivers: they are objects that produce results within work processes.

Catalysts: they are objects that are designed to accelerate drivers, tasks or processes.

Entropy inhibitors: Their role is to minimize the entropy of processes and results.

Inhibitors: They are objects to inhibit anti-conceptual actions in processes.

Gravitational objects: They are objects that generate an influential context that promotes the need of the results provided by tasks, objects or processes.

Objects do not substitute people’s responsibility, they provide a safer, faster and energy saving solution to be installed in work processes.

That is why objects can only be installed in organizations where the leaders assumed the responsibility for the results produced by the processes they manage.

Unicist Tweetinar on Ontologies for Business Strategies

Strategic thinking requires having in mind the final picture of the solution while administrative thinking is simple, it only requires following predefined steps: 1 +1 = 2

Strategic thinking implies adaptive actions which by definition are complex. It requires being able to envision a result and choosing the best solution to achieve it: 2 = infinite possible solutions.

Maximal strategies imply going beyond the boundaries and require strategic thinking. Minimum strategies happen within the boundaries and can be developed using administrative thinking.

We invite you to participate in a Unicist Tweetinar with Peter Belohlavek on May 17 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm (New York Time) that includes the Application of Unicist Ontologies to Business Management.
It will be developed at http://www.twitter.com/uniciststandard

Earthquake, tsunami, crisis and the archetype of Japan

JapanThe crisis in Japan is a demonstration of how the archetype of a culture influences social behavior.

The synthesis of the Japanese archetype was published in March 13, 2010.

The Archetype

Japan has a very powerful archetype to sustain its ultimate purpose that is growth within a communitarian environment and a deep sense of loyalty.  Thus reliability is a natural consequence.

To understand the Japanese archetype we recommend listening to the lecture you find at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8vxkTozAdE

Cultures that have a strong drive towards growth cannot accept the defeat of their leaders. The elite of the culture needs to represent the values of the archetype.

The purpose of the maximal strategy of the Japanese culture is the expansion of the community based on the members’ pride for their work and sustained by their collective intelligence as a community or group.

Unicist Archetype JapanCollective intelligence is in Japan the catalyst of their growth. Therefore there is a need for  integrating the values of the community in order to be able to exert collective intelligence.

Individual intelligence is the entropy inhibitor of the Japanese archetype. It allows individuals to adapt to the conditions of the situation in order to achieve growth.

Loyalty is the final purpose of the minimum strategy. This means that individuals who are not loyal to the structure of the society are considered as aliens.

The integration of aliens implies a very slow process in order to avoid the loss of the roots of the culture.

Strong cultures as Japan respect foreigners based on their values and deeds. Dealing with Japan as an outsider is easy if one accepts that one is a foreigner. Respecting its archetype is the first step to deal with the Japanese community.

Introduction to the use of Ontology in business

When you are dealing with business growth you are in the middle of a complex problem that has open boundaries and the actions of the potential clients and the competitors require dealing with it as an adaptive system. That is what ontology is for.

To approach complex problems, such us growth, we invite you to understand the different ontological approaches and the functionality of the unicist ontology.

Philosophical ontology (from the Greek ὄν, genitive ὄντος: “of that which is”, and -λογία, -logia: science, study, theory) is the study of the nature of being, existence or reality as such, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations.

In computer science and information science, an ontology is a formal representation of knowledge as a set of concepts within a domain, and the relationships between those concepts. It is used to reason about the entities within that domain, and may be used to describe the domain. In theory, an ontology is a “formal, explicit specification of a shared conceptualization”.

Unicist Ontology is the formal representation of the nature of an adaptive system (i.e.: businesses) and the nature of its dynamics based on the ontogenetic intelligence of nature and the laws of evolution. It is used to manage adaptive systems and adaptive processes.

Unicist Ontology uses unicist business objects and algorithms to manage and influence adaptive systems in business. Business growth is just a field where this approach is necessary.
