Comparison of the ontological approaches to business

Ontological approaches to business were rediscovered when technology made the management of complex adaptive systems possible.

Stephen Hawking announced, many years ago, that the XXI century would be the era of complexity.

The ontological approach to complex adaptive systems is making it possible.

The development and use of the Unicist Ontology, its algorithms and objects started in 1976. Its objective was to increase the value generated by human adaptive systems and adaptive processes.

The expansion of the use of ontology included its application in the development of complex information systems and artificial intelligence.

The development of multiple languages to manage ontological approaches, such as the Web Ontology Language (OWL) and the Unicist Standard Language (USL), makes their universal expansion possible.

A Metaphor on the Ethics of the Unicist Confederation

Businesses require a very special use of ethical intelligence. On the one hand, there is a need to build complementarity with the clients in order to establish stable relationships.

On the other hand, there is an implicit or explicit confrontation with the competitors which means a sort of war.

Diplomacy, implying “war in peace”, is a necessary activity to manage businesses. It allows preparing the context to build complementarity with potential clients and to avoid explicit confrontations with competitors.

Ethical intelligence defines the level individuals are able to fly.

1) Solopreneurs are “parachuters” that can only deal with punctual opportunities and then need to get on board of another’s airplane to make the next jump.
2) Small entrepreneurs can only deal with niche markets and cannot grow because they need to “feel” that “they” are flying the airplane.
3) Entrepreneurs can deal with markets because they accept the existence of co-pilots and passengers.
4) Enterpriser can manage global markets using the necessary technology to have a safe flight. Their main concerns are the comfort of their passengers and the fulfillment of the goals.

The level individuals are able to fly is inversely proportional to the needs of their ego.

The lower people fly, the more they need to be right.

Business Growth: How business miracles work

Human miracles occur when an extraordinary achievement has been accomplished by a man or a woman.

A miracle can be defined as: an unexpected event manifesting a supernatural act of a divine agent.

Business miracles are in fact unexpected turning points in a business producing extremely desired and necessary results.

While developing solutions in Unicist Market Labs we have witnessed several business miracles. All these miracles have the same fundamental structure:

1) There is a “crowd” (group) with extreme needs.
2) There is a spontaneous massive behavior of the crowd (group). They behave as a mass of believers in something or someone.
3) The solution is implicit in the crowd’s behavior.
4) There is a leader who is able to discover the solution in the crowd’s behavior and make it happen.

The leaders  appear as magical, but in fact their magic is their extreme ethical behavior that allows them understanding the needs, read the solution and make it happen.

Individualism, rationalism and human complexes are the main inhibitors of business miracles.

An example of a business miracle is Apple after the return of Steve Jobs in 1997.

Unicist Standard to manage business growth

The Unicist Standard (US) to manage the nature of businesses has been developed for diagnosing, strategy building, conceptual design and conceptual planning.

The final objective of the US is to develop objects that are necessary to drive and catalyze processes.

Dealing with the nature of businesses implies necessarily managing a fundamental approach and a technical analytical approach.

The US provides taxonomic methods to approach businesses integrating the fundamental and technical analytical approaches.

Fostering innovation through business associations

A research on the role of business chambers and similar organizations and the possibility to work with them to introduce new value adding technologies has been finished.

It was led by Peter Belohlavek and the final falsification process covered the USA, Germany, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

The conclusions were fully confirmed and can be synthesized in:

1) Business associations are unions that need to defend the interest of the community they represent.
2) They need to have an absolute ideology to sustain the interests of their members and use the necessary technology to do so.
3) They need to develop their activity within the cultural archetype of the country they work in.

Thus there is no room for innovations because the members need to be, by definition, conservatives to preserve the interests they represent.

Understanding a business association requires accepting they are unions and knowing the interests of their members and the archetype of the country they work in.

Pre-diagnoses to define the possibilities of projects

The use of “Unicist business pre-diagnoses” as an approach to new projects has been released for the members of the Unicist Confederation.

The objective of these pre-diagnoses is to define the possibilities of achieving results in a new project.

The core of the system is the development of real added value with the participation of the potential clients. The pre-diagnoses have no cost for the clients.

After 10 years of internal use they were transformed into an “Intuitive pre-diagnosing system using Delphi Group” to deliver value adding information to potential clients.

The hypotheses of the Delphi Groups are provided by The Unicist Research Institute.

The final tests of the system have been just finished and were developed in the USA, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Spain.

These tests, working as real applications, allowed defining the limits of the use of the system to ensure the delivery of added value to the final clients.

Business viruses that destroy competitiveness

Fallacious myths generate a parallel reality when they are installed in businesses. Thus companies lose competitiveness and become survivors in their segment. The value added by fallacious myths is their coverage of the implicit weaknesses of an organization and, as people integrate based on their weakness, they are an important component of the spirit the corps of businesses.

Leaders: The fallacious myth of “ethics”

This fallacy builds an “ethics” that provides benefits for the institution, making the environment and/or their members pay the prices. This ethics has a strong moral basis that is driven by an anti-moral which provides the necessary peace of conscience. This fallacy is sustained by a strong feeling of impunity based on the leading role of the company.

Innovators: The fallacious myth of “added value”

Innovation does not imply the generation of added value. Innovators naturally generate the fallacious myth of added value to justify their innovation. This fallacious myth is sustained by the potential utility of an innovation based on the innovative behavior of the buyers and/or users.

Followers: The fallacious myth of “self-sufficiency”

Followers are differentiated market competitors that avoid investing in the field leaders invest: image, knowledge, technologies, etc. To compensate the lack of investment they need to generate a sense of self-sufficiency and to consider all what they are not willing to do as useless. They generate the fallacious myth of self-sufficiency when the actions were necessary in order to be competitive.

Small business: The fallacious myth of “justification”

“Non differentiated” market participants are organizations that are driven by the survivors ethics and need to have the necessary justifications for their “unadapted” action in a market. Foundations define the validity of what is being said or done, justifications define the needs of doing it. The fallacious myth of justification sustains the ethics of small businesses.
