Fundamentalism: the ethic of survivors by Peter Belohlavek

This book presents the synthetic result of a research work on human fundamentalistic behaviors. Fundamentalism is an attitude taken by any individual, group or culture whose survival is endangered. It is a natural human behavior when exposed to an extreme threat.
In these cases humans need “absolute” behaviors, based on transcendent beliefs to escape from the resulting uncertainty. These beliefs can be based on religious, ideological or mythic “truths”.
Conventional wisdom defines fundamentalism as an extreme unadapted human behavior that imposes rules and even destroys those who do not accept them. Fundamentalism is the ethic of survivors. It has always existed, and at the beginning of the XXI century it is spreading worldwide.
