Wisdom is a pathway with many masters

Wisdom can be defined as the capacity of an individual to integrate idealism and realism with value adding actions.

The characteristic of individuals who achieved wisdom is that they had multiple masters that had an authoritative role in their lives. These roles are still in force and they still admire them.

Admiration and functional envy are the concepts that allow achieving wisdom. Individuals who admire others’ achievements and deeds have the opportunity to achieve wisdom, but only if they pursue the objective of adding value in an environment. Functional envy drives individuals to achieve goals.

Individuals with conflictive relations with authority can never achieve wisdom. They might be extremely erudite, extremely hard workers but they will never be able to integrate idealism and realism with a value adding attitude in their environment.

The apparent paradox of wisdom is the need of multiple masters. It is said that disciples are those learners who overcome their masters. But wisdom, defined as the space where an individual has been able to integrate idealism and realism with value adding actions, cannot be overcome.

Competing with a master in a field where s/he is wise is a demonstration of the prevalence of the need to gain over the need to add value. Multiple masters make wisdom accessible.

Erudition is not analogous to wisdom; it might be different or a fallacious “version” of wisdom. Wisdom implies action while erudition does not.

Achieving wisdom cannot be a goal for a wise person; wisdom is the consequence of the action of an individual but does not cause it. It is unwise to try to achieve wisdom.

That is why wisdom is a pathway with multiple masters. Masters are ordinary or extraordinary people who have achieved wisdom in some field. Look for them while you continue adding value.

To achieve it you need to abandon your modesty and expand your humbleness.  Wise people do not need to be right, just functional.

The human approach to strategy is defined as the conscious planning of human beings to influence the environment when such environment is uncertain, risky, complex or conflictive.

Influencing implies that the actions of a developed strategy will occur in the future.

The unicist strategic approach implies the building of a natural complementation with the “client” and a competitive strategy with “competitors”.

Strategy building implies a conscious behavior; therefore it implies intuitive but also emotional and rational conducts. Respecting taxonomies diminishes the risk of fallacies and paradoxical results. Pilot testing is necessary to secure the validity of a strategy.

Unicist Ontology of the internal speed for decision making

Decisions have been made when they have been implemented. Before their implementation they are just hypothetical wishes.

The speed of decision making depends on the type of logical thinking of individuals. It has to be considered that speed is defined by the chronological lap between a new fact and the implemented real action to exert accurate influence.

The more evolved the logical thinking of individuals the higher the speed of action:

1) Analogical thinking drives to no decisions because personal needs and beliefs prevail. The speed is “0” (zero)

2) Operational thinking requires making the necessary technical analytical studies to define the problem and the possible solution. This is considered the standard time for decision making.

3) Analytical thinking allows focusing the operational technical analytical studies. This doubles the speed of operational thinking.

4) Systemic (Scientific) thinking focuses on a specific operation which reduces the cost of the preparation of decision making based on the existence of a hypothesis for a solution. This doubles the speed of analytical thinking.

5) Conceptual thinking provides the ontological structure that underlies the operation. It allows defining the essential drivers of the solution. This doubles the speed of systemic thinking.

6) Unicist thinking provides the understanding of the boundaries of the solution allowing the development of a plan B (including an entropy inhibitor) and a plan C (including a catalyst). This doubles the speed of conceptual thinking.

Conclusion

Internal speed cannot be accelerated without producing paradoxical results.

Internal speed evolves with the individual but a sudden acceleration drives individuals towards analogical thinking.

It has to be considered that the mass of the population tends to use analogical thinking at work. Teamwork decisions need to accept that a train has the speed of its slowest wagon (metaphor).

The above mentioned speeds have been empirically confirmed.

Unicist ontology to make computers work in education

Computers are, objectively, the most powerful tool to support teaching processes. The objective of education is to provide the necessary knowledge to adapt to reality and to work.

But this adaptation implies integrating to the social environment and developing the necessary influence to make it grow in order to expand the possibilities for future generations.

Work implies generating added value and receiving the counterpart of this value.

Computers might generate paradoxical results

Reality is an adaptive system which, by definition, is complex.

Complexity implies, among other aspects, that the elements of reality have a fuzzy definition and that interdependency and their perception is ambiguous within an environment that has open boundaries and requires the use of integrative logic in order to be apprehended.

With dualistic thinking no apprehension of “actual” reality is possible

Computers provide a safe environment that gives instantaneous answers based on a dualistic logic, avoiding the need of facing the uncertainty and ambiguity of reality.

Therefore, the use of computers in teaching processes generates a parallel reality in which individuals know that they are in a disambiguated environment where they can dominate the reality that is being taught.

Growth implies being able to adapt to an environment that is wider, more complex or requiring more energy than the one the pupil is dealing with.

These parallel realities computers can generate become, for lazy minds, George Orwell’s “Big Brother”.

Computers empower the few pupils who are driven by their need of learning but the mass tends to look for a big brother to follow, while seeking to satisfy their individualistic needs.

Teachers should change their roles

The mass of teachers adopted the energy conservation role of teaching in the educational system. They had no need to invest the necessary energy to lead individual learning processes. It was not demanded from them. That is why Bloom’s taxonomy of learning did not spread and ended in schools for gifted pupils.

If teachers do not adopt the role of guiding learning processes, computers produce a thinking inhibiting environment for the mass.

The change of the role of teachers requires a generational change if there is a decision to empower the knowledge acquisition of pupils.

This decision has “no rating”, because empowering the assumption of responsibilities requires a higher level of energy consumption while “rating” demand a lowering of the energy consumption.

An adequately disguised degradation has high rating while upgrades have none.

Peopleware, software and hardware

Every system needs to be focused on “peopleware”, is put into action by the software and the energy conservation is provided by the hardware.

The use of computers in education requires defining the peopleware first, then the software and finally installing the necessary hardware.

Evolution requires having the concept of the peopleware including both pupils and teachers in order define an educational system.

Involution occurs when hardware solutions precede the software solutions. But both degrade if the peopleware has not demonstrated to be a valid purpose.

Involution is always less energy consuming than evolution. That is why it is very difficult to switch from involution to evolution and very easy the other way around.

Developing vs. underdeveloping Countries

Developing cultures naturally follow the rules of evolution while underdeveloping cultures tend to use shortcuts in their evolution that produce paradoxical effects.

The massification of computers in schools without having clarified the peopleware’s purpose and solved the software alternatives becomes an end in itself and degrades the educational processes. That is why it has rating. It provides a magical solution to a problem that requires a cultural change management strategy.

The effect is necessarily a degradation of the adapting capacity of the pupils while a parallel reality is being fostered and transformed into an addiction to avoid assuming the responsibility of thinking and / or reflecting.

A palliative

Parents need to assume the responsibility of leading the education of their children. We strongly recommend them to generate a real environment where their children have to adapt and solve problems that are beyond the limits of computers.

If you can achieve this goal, the mismanagement of computer aided education will be compensated and transformed into a functional process. If not, you will be seeing your children entering the “Animal Farm” looking for the “Big Brother”.

Unicist Standard: How Power Centered Organizations work

Power centered organizations need to be based on extremely solid groundings in order to be successful. There are too many power centered organizations that are successful in the world. Because they are such, it is taboo to mention their existence as power centered organizations.

It requires that the organizations or their leaders, when they are not institutionalized, need to be considered subjectively as eternal, omniscient and omnipotent.

People follow power driven leaders when they are able to demonstrate that they have the necessary knowledge and omnipotence to cover the expectancy of the followers.

The Omniscient Perception is based on the real knowledge leaders have of what is happening in the environment.  Omniscient knowledge requires that leaders produce the necessary actions to generate value for the followers.

Omnipotence is attributed to leaders when they are perceived as driving towards an eternal state. When leaders are perceived as omnipotent followers cannot imagine the real world without their existence.

Absolute power exertion is based on a perception of eternal power, unchanged rules and absolute ideologies. This is functional as long as power driven leaders produce the necessary value for their followers.

Doers need to assume the responsibility of what is possible to be done.

A fact is worth a million words

When what is said is consistent with what is done, communication is perfect.

Factual language is used to reflect facts and facts are only such if they are not interpreted. When they are interpreted, instead of being apprehended in their functionality, they are no longer facts.

Factual language is a meta-language. It is the most powerful language. But the communication of facts requires words, and words might be changed by projections, interpretations and distortive perceptions.

If factual language is consistent, these changes do not generate misinformation in the long run. But diplomatic language is necessary to ensure the meaning of words and avoid communication problems in the meantime.

Factual language has a limit the necessity to “believe to see”. Only facts that are believed to have the possibility of existence ca be seen. The affirmation of “see to believe” is repeated by those that are blind to facts because they suffer intrinsic distrust.

Subjectivism is the key to fallacious self-esteem

Cultures, groups and people that are strongly influenced by individual complexes or by social evolutionary or self-valuation syndromes need to develop a personal subjectivist approach to feel in a comfort zone, without assuming responsibilities or feeling threatened by the environment.

This subjectivism is built upon Intuition, Beliefs, Experience and Rationalism / Emotions.

These individuals integrate in groups and work as accomplices to sustain their comfort zone. They are fundamentalists acting in the name of interests, ideologies, religions or whatever they need to sustain their comfort zone.

Subjectivism fosters the conditions that are needed in order to survive, such as Corruption, Authoritarianism and Anarchy.

To do so subjectivists need to disregard objective information. They need to degrade all that implies objectivity and assuming responsibilities.

Manipulation, Value Judgments and Quitting are the main tools subjectivists use to avoid the assumption of responsibilities.

Beware of them and do not argue with them; they are always right.
