Unicist Object Driven Business Strategy

The Unicist Strategic approach is based on the emulation of nature. The emulation of the organization of nature allowed discovering the DNA of organizations that is defined by the unicist ontogenetic maps of their functions and is materialized in the implementation of object driven business processes. These researches allowed developing the Unicist Object Driven Business Strategy.

Unicist Object Driven Business StrategyThe basics that sustain these developments were the discoveries of the Conceptual Economy, Conceptual Anthropology, Conceptual Psychology and the Unicist Logical Approach to Businesses.

Four types of objects were developed to manage business strategy.

  1. Commercial Objects
  2. Organizational Objects
  3. Adaptive IT Objects
  4. Learning Objects

1) Commercial Objects

They deal with the expansion of the boundaries of markets

2) Organizational Objects

They deal with productivity, quality and adaptive work processes.

3) Adaptive IT Objects

They deal with the information and communications processes.

4) Learning Objects

They deal with the adaptive behavior of individuals.

The object driven business strategies allow working in the field of what is possible to be achieved developing maximal strategies to expand boundaries and minimum strategies to profit.

Annex: Reality is driven by objects

Unicist ontology based technologies are materialized in objects that are installed within processes to produce optimized results.

Nature is organized by objects. It is these objects of nature that establish evolution’s point of reference. The appearance of new species, the disappearance of others, changes, evolution, and mutation of species are nothing but aspects of nature that may be approached today as of the Unicist Theory of Evolution which is based on the discovery of the Ontogenetic Intelligence of Nature.

For this approach to be economic, possible and certain as far as results go, it is necessary to have the appropriate knowledge. This knowledge may be either diffuse or structured in objects. When it is diffuse, it is permanently being scrutinized. When it is structured, it establishes cognitive landmarks that change as new operational knowledge is gained.

Humans use mental “pre-built” structures to approach reality. Object driven thinking is human’s natural approach to reality. Human mind approaches reality using cognitive objects.

A cognitive object is a structure that contains knowledge, an action procedure, the groundings of such object, and the opinion on which it is based.

When the conceptual knowledge of a given reality is reached we can structure cognitive objects that remain throughout the times and evolve slowly. The Unicist Theory of Evolution lays the necessary conceptual ground to construct stable and safe cognitive objects, which are required to forecast the reality whose knowledge they structure.

These cognitive objects allow the building of systemic, functional and operational objects to be installed within business processes. The cognitive objects also allow the adaptation process of objects to different non compatible environments.

The unicist approach is based on the use of object driven technologies.

Questions are needed to manage adaptive systems

Adaptive systems are in permanent motion. Therefore the knowledge of their nature is necessary in order to establish fixed points to influence them.

To apprehend an adaptive system it is necessary to have the questions to grasp what is behind the apparent actions. This is what makes evolution possible.

“Action-reflection-action” is the process that needs to be followed to influence an adaptive system’s environment.

The basic questions that need to be posed at the different levels of logical thinking and reflection are:

Why? – Conceptual thinking and reflection
What for? – Scientific / systemic thinking
What? – Analytic thinking
How? – Operational thinking

When reality is approached based on responses instead of question it is degraded to the pre-concepts that individuals have in their minds. This drives necessarily to parallel realities and involution.

The acceptance of this fact fosters a change of the educational systems. In the real world, students are basically evaluated based on the responses they are able to provide.

Approaching reality based on questions has become a “Martian” behavior. But the integration of both questions and answers is needed to generate evolution.

Conservatism rules, because it needs to foster predefined responses. The future generations will have to pay the prices the present generation doesn’t want to pay.

35th Anniversary of The Unicist Research Institute

June 1976 was the beginning of the research of evolution in the field of complexity science. It was focused on approaching the nature of reality which required an ontological approach to the basic research and an object driven approach in the field of application.

The research drove to the discovery of the ontogenetic intelligence of nature, the unicist ontology, the unicist logic, the complexity science research methodology and the human ontointelligence.

This provided the basic knowledge to develop more than 3,500 applicative researches in the field of individual, institutional and social evolution that were finished until September 2010. The research work is still ongoing.

Unicist Ontological Object Driven Brand Building

The purpose of unicist brand-building is to develop business catalysts. Catalysts are process accelerators. Brands are a natural catalyst for market growth. At the same time, business objects can be used to catalyze the building of brands.

It is necessary to have apprehended the nature of a business and its necessary brand in order to be able to build objects to accelerate brand building. Apprehending the nature implies knowing the ontology of a business and its necessary brand.

The ontology of brands can be defined integrating the purpose, which is the building of goodwill, with the product brand and the institutional image.

Goodwill is a “subjective value” of something that exceeds the “objective value”.  Goodwill is measured in money.

Products are naturally the active function of brand building and the institutional image is the energy conservation function. If one of them fails, brand generate negative goodwill.

It has to be considered that business objects are adaptive systems developed to produce a predefined result. They emulate the organization of nature. E. g. a tree is an object. Individuals will have accelerated evolution if they can move trees from one environment to another. Brand building is accelerated if the adequate objects are used.

Unicist ontology to make computers work in education

Computers are, objectively, the most powerful tool to support teaching processes. The objective of education is to provide the necessary knowledge to adapt to reality and to work.

But this adaptation implies integrating to the social environment and developing the necessary influence to make it grow in order to expand the possibilities for future generations.

Work implies generating added value and receiving the counterpart of this value.

Computers might generate paradoxical results

Reality is an adaptive system which, by definition, is complex.

Complexity implies, among other aspects, that the elements of reality have a fuzzy definition and that interdependency and their perception is ambiguous within an environment that has open boundaries and requires the use of integrative logic in order to be apprehended.

With dualistic thinking no apprehension of “actual” reality is possible

Computers provide a safe environment that gives instantaneous answers based on a dualistic logic, avoiding the need of facing the uncertainty and ambiguity of reality.

Therefore, the use of computers in teaching processes generates a parallel reality in which individuals know that they are in a disambiguated environment where they can dominate the reality that is being taught.

Growth implies being able to adapt to an environment that is wider, more complex or requiring more energy than the one the pupil is dealing with.

These parallel realities computers can generate become, for lazy minds, George Orwell’s “Big Brother”.

Computers empower the few pupils who are driven by their need of learning but the mass tends to look for a big brother to follow, while seeking to satisfy their individualistic needs.

Teachers should change their roles

The mass of teachers adopted the energy conservation role of teaching in the educational system. They had no need to invest the necessary energy to lead individual learning processes. It was not demanded from them. That is why Bloom’s taxonomy of learning did not spread and ended in schools for gifted pupils.

If teachers do not adopt the role of guiding learning processes, computers produce a thinking inhibiting environment for the mass.

The change of the role of teachers requires a generational change if there is a decision to empower the knowledge acquisition of pupils.

This decision has “no rating”, because empowering the assumption of responsibilities requires a higher level of energy consumption while “rating” demand a lowering of the energy consumption.

An adequately disguised degradation has high rating while upgrades have none.

Peopleware, software and hardware

Every system needs to be focused on “peopleware”, is put into action by the software and the energy conservation is provided by the hardware.

The use of computers in education requires defining the peopleware first, then the software and finally installing the necessary hardware.

Evolution requires having the concept of the peopleware including both pupils and teachers in order define an educational system.

Involution occurs when hardware solutions precede the software solutions. But both degrade if the peopleware has not demonstrated to be a valid purpose.

Involution is always less energy consuming than evolution. That is why it is very difficult to switch from involution to evolution and very easy the other way around.

Developing vs. underdeveloping Countries

Developing cultures naturally follow the rules of evolution while underdeveloping cultures tend to use shortcuts in their evolution that produce paradoxical effects.

The massification of computers in schools without having clarified the peopleware’s purpose and solved the software alternatives becomes an end in itself and degrades the educational processes. That is why it has rating. It provides a magical solution to a problem that requires a cultural change management strategy.

The effect is necessarily a degradation of the adapting capacity of the pupils while a parallel reality is being fostered and transformed into an addiction to avoid assuming the responsibility of thinking and / or reflecting.

A palliative

Parents need to assume the responsibility of leading the education of their children. We strongly recommend them to generate a real environment where their children have to adapt and solve problems that are beyond the limits of computers.

If you can achieve this goal, the mismanagement of computer aided education will be compensated and transformed into a functional process. If not, you will be seeing your children entering the “Animal Farm” looking for the “Big Brother”.

The context of business strategy building

Strategies exist in the mind of the strategist or they do not exist. Strategies happen in the future; therefore they can just exist as ideas in the mind of the one who is responsible for succeeding.

There are two conditions that are needed to design strategies:

1) The individual must be the “General” in the specific field in which s/he is acting. A General is the individual who is responsible for making things happen.
2) The individual has to have the capacity to foresee the future in that field

The first condition defines the possibility of assuming the responsibility of the strategy. The second condition defines the capacity to manage time minimizing costs and maximizing results.

A strategy is necessarily driven by the future. Developing successful strategies implies recognizing that the individuals who cannot envision the future can not grasp the strategy. The end of the conflict has to be envisioned in order to be able to develop a strategy.

A Strategy is the art of a General, because a capacity to envision the future is needed in order to transform a conflict into a success.

Generals achieved their rank because they have this capacity. Noncommissioned officers are not responsible for seeking the future. They are responsible for the minimum strategy. But in order to do so, they have to accept that someone can foresee what they cannot.

Why is unicist thinking necessary for strategy building?

The discovery of the Unicist thinking mind model made by Peter Belohlavek explained what is necessary to develop strategies and why individuals need to have a conscious approach in order to build them.
