Discovery of the Nature of Interpersonal Communication

Communication implies establishing a code to relate with others within a particular environment. From an essential point of view, the purpose of communication is either functional to work or functional to pastime.

Communication Concept

On the one hand, we define work as the human activity carried out to generate added value and gain the corresponding counterpart. On the other hand, the objective of pastime is to obtain emotional benefits and generate pleasant transactions using the communication as the vehicle. The unicist ontological structure of interpersonal communication includes:

  1. An adaptation process to generate added value to the environment and obtain the counterpart.
  2. A process of introjective empathy. The individual that is communicating introjects the object of communication in order to apprehend reality.
  3. A process of influential sympathy. This requires individuals to “vibrate” syntonized with the environment they are communicating with. Having influential sympathy requires influencing the syntonic “vibration” with the environment to ensure the possibility to share experiences with others.
  4. A participation process. When pastime is the goal, participation processes have to be the implicit purpose of communication.
  5. A projective empathic process, which is the starting point of any communication. Communication begins with the projection of ourselves we make on the external reality.
  6. A process of emotive sympathy, in which both sides discover they might share the same emotions.

The change of languages

Adolescents promote the change of languages. Thus they build a parallel world to fit in. A cultural nucleus is strong when it neutralized most of the changes promoted by adolescents. A cultural nucleus is weak when adults copy the language of adolescents. In this sense, the behavior of elites defines the strengths or weakness of a culture.

The Unicist Double Dialectical Approach to Businesses

The unicist logical approach allowed defining the potential possibilities of a business. The discovery of the logical structures (named ontogenetic maps) that underlie the nature of individual, institutional and cultural behavior allowed modeling the adaptive aspects of reality.

Unicist Logical ApproachThe unicist logical approach uses these structures to emulate the dynamics of businesses based on their models.

Models are dead or live structures depending on the mind of the one who uses them.

The double dialectical approach allows emulating dynamic live models in mind. It requires having a rational knowledge of the ontogenetic maps and using the unicist reflection process to make them work by developing actions based on the use of grounded knowledge to assure results.

Empiricism is a dualistic approach to reality that does not suffice to expand the boundaries of businesses because it is necessarily based on past experiences.

The use of the unicist logical approach, that makes the emulation of reality possible, allows taking advantage of potential possibilities and increasing the speed of actions and energy saving, which makes it necessary to expand and upgrade businesses.

The emulation of businesses in mind

The unicist approach implies being able to manage the unicist double dialectical logic. It made the emulation of nature possible and thus opened the doors for accurate diagnoses, scenarios, strategies and architectures that allowed defining the possibilities to produce results and make them happen.

It required going beyond the dualistic approach that hinders the emulation of evolution and limits human activities to static environments.

We invite you to enter into this approach at a personal level to empower your personal strategies.

Why go Beyond Dualism?

The neural functionality is dualistic. Neurons are “on” or “off”. Dualistic Dialectics vs. Double Dialectics is the battle between the disjunction “OR” and the conjunction “AND”.

The dualistic dialectics of Hegel and Marx transformed this dualistic approach into a social myth that provided an oversimplified perception of reality and a way to influence it. Both dialectics are fallacious because they do not emulate the structure of nature.

The dualistic thinking necessarily fosters a non-adaptive behavior that is driven by idealistic, ideological, materialistic, spiritual or egocentric needs. Dualism is necessary when personal needs prevail over functional adaptation.

The consequence of dualistic thinking is that people believe in a dialectical behavior. Adaptation becomes impossible when using dualistic thinking.

But dualistic dialectics has proven to be fallacious to understand and influence evolution. The unicist double dialectical logic allowed using the dualism of neural functionality but emulating the functionality of nature. In the short run, the benefit of using dualistic dialectics is that it transforms humans in judges of reality instead of responsible participants.

Why use the Unicist Double Dialectical Logic?

The unicist double dialectical logic uses the dualistic operation of neurons to build a mental emulation of the structure of nature that allows dealing with the adaptive aspects of reality, managing the integration of their double dialectical behavior.

Unicist thinking is the name given to the process that allows building the double dialectical logic.

Unicist thinking allows emulating in mind the structure of adaptive aspects of reality in order to manage them. It provides the necessary operating system to manage adaptive systems to expand the boundaries of businesses and infer future scenarios in order to adapt to them.

Unicist thinking allows defining the nature of reality in a reasonable and provable way. It is based on double dialectical thinking in order apprehend nature emulating the ontogenetic intelligence of nature.

It is necessary to diagnose, build strategies and design business architectures. It provides the structure to understand the fundamentals of businesses and integrate the fundamental knowledge with the technical analytical knowledge to make decisions. It is an upgrade that is up to you…

An Example: Unicist Leadership

The unicist approach to leadership is a process that allows leading people minimizing the energy that has to be invested to influence them. It is a role centered approach that uses roles as objects minimizing the necessary power to be exerted.

The unicist double dialectical approach allows managing groups as adaptive systems, forecasting their dynamics to be able to respond to their demand while being one step ahead in order to be able to be followed.

The dualistic approach transforms leadership into an over-adaptive process, where dominance, submission and opposition prevail. As dualistic approaches cannot define group dynamics, they need to “rigidify” the relationships in order to avoid individualistic-anarchic behaviors.

Dualistic leadership tends to transform participation into manipulation or submissiveness and non exerted power into power exertion which destroys group synergy.

The Unicist Logical Foundations of Jean Piaget’s Theory

Adaptation, accommodation and assimilation were terms used by Jean Piaget to define the learning process. It has been sustained that the adaptation process, which is the final goal of human intelligence, follows two complementary processes: accommodation and assimilation.

The unicist approach has been using these concepts since the eighties considering them as a neural entity individuals have to approach learning processes. Therefore they have, as any entity, a purpose, and active function and an energy conservation function.

The purpose of this entity is to adapt to the environment, because this is the purpose of any healthy human being.

The active function is given by the accommodation process, that is the process in which the mind has to accommodate itself to the evidence with which it is being confronted.

This process is extremely energy consuming because it demands moving internal structures to find a way to adapt to the external environment. The accommodation process is supplementary to the adaptation process meaning that it is redundant but having a superior solution to adapt to the environment.

The changes proposed by the accommodation process are limited by the assimilation process. The assimilation process is the energy conservation function that allows adapting to the environment. The assimilation process consists in the integration of the external environment in the mind without changing the concepts the individual has.

Assimilation and adaptation are complementary which means that the assimilation provides the information that is needed to adapt to the environment.

Adaptation, accommodation and assimilation define the essential structure of a learning process which is nonexistent if individuals cannot adapt to the environment because they need to over-adapt to it. Over-adaptation implies a submissive, dominant or oppositional attitude towards the environment.

Conclusion

There exists no complementation between the accommodation and the assimilation processes. They are integrated by the adaptation process. That is why when adaption does not exist there is no possibility that an individual learns.

Ontological research of personal turnarounds in business

A personal turnaround is a sort of “resurrection” made by an individual who enters in a superior stage.

The ontological research on personal turnarounds in business has been running for 10 years now and has included 23 individuals and the follow up of their evolution. This research is now in its final stage.

The publication of this post has been triggered by the need to foster the turnaround of four individuals, one is extremely young, two are middle aged and one is a senior. The conclusion of the research will be considered valid if the forecast of the four cases is accurate.

Many of the cases of turnarounds in business were triggered by the desire of achieving a superior level in terms of financials.

What became evident is that turnarounds are possible if individuals envision a new stage and their role, have changed the paradigms to deal with their environment and have “faith” (implying complete confidence in an authority).

They require a high level of self-confidence to launch a different stage and the capacity of doing the necessary amendments that allow “guilt free” closing of the previous state.

When these conditions cannot be fulfilled individuals degrade to a lower level. The financial trigger works often as a mind-trap hindering the upgrades.

Turnarounds are sustained by the generational responsibility of individuals. They become extremely difficult when the environment has a high level of individualistic components.

Personal turnarounds are necessary when needing to deal with a superior business ethics.

Personal turnarounds are  extremely rare.

The unicist algorithm to foster the development of talents

Personal talents evolve when they are driven by internal and external conditions. Individuals evolve when there is a real need to increase the value they add to the environment and they have an internal need to improve and the will to learn.

These conditions can be fostered but not invented. The individual has to have the internal need to improve in order to respond to an objective need to add more value

Those who are in a comfort zone cannot develop. Personal development only occurs when individuals need to grow. Improving and learning is a decision that needs to be based on freewill, but it needs to be based on assuming the responsibility of improving something.

Learning is the energy conservation function of a learning context. Learning implies being driven by the need to solve a problem and making the effort to understand and comprehend how to make it happen.

A learning context has been developed when the three before mentioned elements are integrated generating an empty space an individual is able to fill.

Energy Saving in Business Management

Work implies producing a displacement of something in the real world. Every displacement generates a friction that needs to be managed.

When two people are doing something in a working environment and one of them produces work and the other is inactive, the friction produced is extremely destructive.

It produces a paradoxical situation because:

1) There is an extreme conflict if the friction is not eliminated.
2) If the parts are “lubricated”, there will be no friction but the person who is inactive will continue doing nothing.
3) The inactive person needs to judge what the other part is doing because that judgment sustains her/his self-esteem.
4) Finally, the one who does the work ends up being judged by the one who cannot do it and the conflict escalates to the maximal level.

Apparent movement is worse than inaction

Inaction appears often hidden behind apparent actions that are done without having assumed the responsibility for producing results. These apparent actions are based on fallacious decisions that produce negative results because they generate costs without adding value.

In this case they do not produce friction; they directly produce an “explosion” of the situation or an “implosion” of the actions.

If this conflict is not faced the natural trend towards minimum energy consumption (*) and inaction will prevail, eliminating both apparent actions and real actions.

To deal with this problem the nature of doers has to be understood in order to avoid their quitting. Access a free e-book on the Nature of Doers http://unicist.org/deb_doers.php

(*) In a closed system, with constant external parameters and entropy, the internal energy will decrease and approach a minimum value at equilibrium.

Unicist Object Driven Organization: Upgrading Human Quality

The use of Unicist Business Objects is only possible for those who are willing to assume the full responsibility for producing results.

All those who do not need or want to assume full responsibility for results feel endangered by using objects because they “substitute” them in their minds. Although this is objectively false, people who just consider their responsibility for being a “mean” in a process, need to avoid the use of objects.

This can be done using an infinite variety of “tricks”: denial, modification, destruction, criticism,” yes, but”, etc.

The use of Unicist Business Objects transforms their users in the “Generals” of their activity, using the objects as their “Soldiers”.

The use of objects is extremely powerful, cheap and effective if an individual needs to produce results. It transforms businesses in simple effective processes driven by objects.

This is what the Unicist Standard is about.

Understanding Cultures: The Archetype of China

The archetype of China is a unique case of a culture that has the capacity to grow based on the internal consistency of its model, a model that became complementary to the globalization process.

We strongly recommend watching the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mRlgQKWlnQ

China’s Structure

China is a culture based on the consistency of the social and individual efforts and the capacity of accepting trade-offs to achieve the goals of the country.

The Chinese model has to be understood in itself without comparing it with other countries. It has multiple economic models working simultaneously. It is neither a communist nor a capitalist model. It uses multiple unique solutions which imply permanent trade-offs between the different models to achieve its growth.

The Communist Party can be considered as homologous to the ancient nobility in Europe but representing the interests of China as a country and the needs of its population.

Entering the Communist Party needs to be earned because within the party there has to be an ideological consistency to allow a democratic behavior. The Communist Party is the “Establishment” of China.

Confucius’ Concept

Confucianism is a functional philosophy for a culture that needs to grow in a context of an extremely large country with a large population. Order is necessary to sustain consistency.

Minorities in China have to behave within the limits of the explicit and implicit Chinese model. Censorship and self-censorship are a need to avoid that the culture loses its consistency. But although censorship becomes necessary in this context, it is also the implicit weakness of the Chinese archetype.

Cultures evolve based on their implicit weaknesses. Therefore, a generational change can be expected in this field depending on the new trade-offs the culture will make.

A Shielded Culture

China has been, is and will be a shielded archetype, protecting its culture and beliefs in order to ensure its consistency and allowing making the necessary trade-offs to grow.

This shield was represented by the Chinese Wall in the past, and now it is represented by the multiple regulations that establish the framework of the country.

Maximal Strategy

The maximal strategy of China is driven by the working capacity of the culture and the catalyst for the minimum strategy is their cultural shield that ensures the consistency of its actions. The cultural shield works as a protection from foreign influence and internal distortions.

Minimum Strategy

The minimum strategy is driven by the individual working capacity of its population. The entropy inhibitor, to ensure the achievement of growth, is the ideological shield that ensures the focus of the efforts on the objectives that are being achieved.

The personal capacity of making trade-offs is installed in the population and makes individuals extremely focused achievers.

To apprehend the Chinese archetype it is necessary to understand Doers, avoiding ideological, religious or social comparisons. China was, is and will be unique. China doesn’t base its expansion on exporting culture, but on exporting products.
