False HopeThe 2008 crisis required dealing with the future having an optimistic approach; but illusions, fears and voluntarism kill everything they touch.

The future depends on us. Therefore we need to leave behind the illusions, fears and voluntarism that were fostered by the crisis to grow and foster growth.

We want to share with you a new year of hope, courage and rationality to build the future we and the coming generations deserve.

Unicist Riddle: The Centipede

Many, many years ago a centipede, which lived in a forest, had unsolvable problems. His salary was insufficient to pay for the shoes he used. His life was empty. No cinema, no theatre, no vacations; nothing that required money to be bought.
The centipede searched for solutions all over the forest. He went from stone to stone, from tree to tree, from friend to friend. No solutions were found, just desperation.

Finally he met a friend who proposed him a solution. Why donā€™t you visit the owl? He is the senior consultant of the forest. He is wise and counsels everybody. He is really respected in the forest.

After thinking it over for some time, he decided to go. His situation was unbearable. No cinema, no anything. Surviving was the most he could do.
The great day came and with hope and joy he visited the owl and told him his story. The owl listened carefully and respectfully. Finally after reflecting on the centipedeā€™s problem he proposed a solution.

ā€œI have the solution for your problem,ā€ said the owl. ā€œPut on a pair of wings and flyā€.
ā€œThank you!ā€ replied the centipede. ā€œI have finally found my way. Now I will be able to go to the cinema and to the theatre.Ā  I will be able to live my life again.ā€
After leaving the owlā€™s room, the centipede thought, ā€˜how can I do that?ā€
Immediately he returned to owlā€™s office and asked him how to put on wings and fly.
With the same formality he had used before the owl replied.
ā€œLook, the responsibility of a consultant is to propose ideas. Implementation is the clientā€™s responsibility.ā€
The centipede did not just leave the room. He fledā€¦..

He stayed alone for more than a month. His problem was harassing him. He saw no way out. His alternative was to commit suicide, but he could not find the courage to do so.

Some time after, while resting on a stone with his eyes looking nowhere, an ant saw his depressive look.
ā€œWhat is wrong with you? Why are you sad? The day is nice, it is spring; what is your problem?ā€ the ant asked.
The centipede felt the need to tell him his story. The ant listened carefully and suggested that he go talk with the eagle (*), the other counselor in the forest.
ā€œNo way! I do not want to talk with anybody again.ā€ said the centipede.
ā€œYou have no choiceā€, replied the ant. ā€œAnd please consider that it was very helpful in my case.ā€

Finally he decided to go. He was really scared.
The eagle had a penetrating sight that appeared extremely aggressive. The centipede began to tell him his sad history, but he could not finish. The eagle interrupted him.
ā€œI have the solution for your problemā€, said the eagle.
ā€œI have seen this movie beforeā€ thought the centipede.
ā€œJust use half of the shoes. Use one foot with a shoe and leave the next barefooted. Thus you will reduce the cost of the shoes you have to buy. After having this done for a month, please visit me again.ā€
He left the room limping. Toc, non-toc, toc, non-toc.
Finally he rebelled. He threw all the shoes away.
ā€œNo more!!!ā€ He said, and began walking barefooted.

He had found his way. He didnā€™t use shoes anymore.
That is why, to this day, centipedes do not use shoes.
He never visited the eagle again. What for? His life was on its way. From time to time, when the eagle and the centipede met in the forest, they would smile at each other.

(*) Eagles and owls are deadly enemies in nature.

Integrating cures, prevention and wellbeing in healthcare

Medical practice naturally includes a curing activity, which includes both curative and palliative aspects and a preventive action in order to provide wellbeing.

The most difficult aspect in healthcare practice is to be able to integrate these three aspects in a realistic way and not considering only what should be done.

The signs and symptoms of a patient are observable. Dealing with them only requires having the knowledge of their meaning.

The aspects that deal with prevention are less observable because they vary from culture to culture and from patient to patient.

But the most difficult aspect to deal with is the understanding of the wellbeing of a patient which can only be intuited.

The preceding facts explain why healthcare is strongly focused on curing.

Medical Practice Viruses

When physicians do not assume the responsibility for wellbeing they install a business virus type ā€œAā€ into their practice. The consequence is that they will be focused on diseases.

From today on Diana Belohlavek will be managing the alliances of The Unicist Corporate University with Business Schools worldwide.

Diana Belohlavek is currently the VP for Knowledge Management & Communication at The Unicist Research Institute.
Her postgraduate studies were in research methodologies at The Unicist Corporate University.
One of the personal interests that has influenced her professional career the most has been the study of myths from an anthropological point of view.
She was a swimmer and a triathlete. Her research work has allowed her to integrate her competitive experience in sports with her personal development and institutional management.
Diana Belohlavek is a member of the Executive Committee of The Unicist Research Institute and the Unicist Confederation. She is also member of the Unicist Confedertion’s Partners Admission Committee.
She is a lecturer in the field of unicist technologies and unicist thinking. She is a member of the Organizing Committee of the Unicist International Conferences.

Genetic Intelligence and Unicist Ontointelligence

The frontiers of intelligence have opened up. Intelligence, which in reality is measured by the adaptation to the environment, includes aspects that go from the totally conscious aspects, to totally innate aspects. Nowadays this is beyond discussion.

Genetic research is contributing increasing knowledge about the ā€œmechanismsā€ of man that will be able to generate knowledge of man as a machine.

But the limits of knowledge continue to be the infinite possible combinations that generate a complex unified field, that in every-day life are transformed into very few behaviors, for which the body aligns all its complex apparatus.

The advances in the understanding of genetic intelligence and its mechanisms enable their integration linked to the rational, the emotional and the conceptual intelligences. Ontointelligence is the mechanism humansā€™ have to grasp the nature of reality making the before mentioned integration possible.

Genetic intelligence completes the picture that explains also manā€™s automatisms that until now have been seen as individual and social dysfunctional behaviors.

Innovation is the basis for economic growth.Ā  Essentially, countries, cultures, institutions, and individuals grow only in the fields where they are open to innovations.

The purpose of innovation is to overcome scarcity. That is why only people or cultures that have the will, find the way to overcome scarcity.Ā  This is the cultural context that fosters innovation.

The driver of innovation is human creation. The word creation is used in the sense of recreation. Humans create based on the existing energy.

The maximal strategy of innovations drives towards the solution of a scarcity. Therefore innovative organizations have the perception that they add value to the environment. But this is only true if the minimum strategy is also fulfilled.

The minimum strategy implies inserting the innovations into the social capital of the environment. Social capital is defined by the strength of the bonds that integrate the members of a community.

Commercial innovations need to be only one step ahead of the habits of the environment. If they are more than one step ahead they fail, unless there is an extreme need and they are, implicitly, a ā€œback to basicsā€.

In this field Procter & Gamble is a notorious benchmark.
