Cures & Palliatives in Healthcare

This ontology, discovered by Peter Belohlavek, provides the necessary taxonomy to follow the natural steps integrating both cures and palliatives. In this short video the author answers on the nature of cures and palliatives.

The Unicist Standard defined the universal ontology of the application of cures for any type of human adaptive system that has functional problems.

Unicist Business Objects based Institutional Immune Systems

The immune system of an organization is defined by the structure of objects that are able to detect, isolate and destroy the external elements that attack the institution.

The immune system of an organization implies the existence of all the “objects” that are available in order to destroy the threat.

This is necessary in order to liberate the “negative” energy introduced by a “virus”. From an ontological point of view the institutional immune system can be shown in the following structure.

Action inhibiting objects are those whose function is the elimination of threats.

Entropy inhibiting objects are those whose function is to avoid a dysfunctional entropy of the active function.

Driving objects are those that impulse the action in an institution.

Catalyzing objects are those that accelerate the functionality of the whole or parts of the institution.

Gravitational objects are those that influence other objects in order to provide the necessary energy to function.

The pathway from Analogical Thinking to Operational Thinking

Foundation-building is the bridge between analogical thinking and operational thinking.

Unicist Ontology of FoundationsThe approach to external reality in businesses requires the use of analogical thinking. The recognition of an external reality requires projecting on it the internal image one has.

External facts become “UFOs” if one has no internal image to project. This projection comes from the use of analogical thinking which happens spontaneously and unconsciously.

Individual’s thinking process begins when the individual is able to analyze the unconscious perception made by his analogical thinking process and is able to change it after having recognized the subjective aspects s/he deposited on the external fact.

If this projection remains unchanged the individual unavoidable needs to enter in the “stagnated survivor ethics” in order to benefit from the environment exerting the necessary and justified power to obtain benefits without generating value. Ignorance generates stagnated survivors.

Understanding the foundations of reality is what allows moving from analogical to operational thinking. The technical-analytical knowledge is what allows building reasonable, provable and understandable foundations.

People who are installed in stagnant survivor ethics cannot deal with foundation building. They always have a justification to avoid acquiring the necessary knowledge.

Business Expansion is based on Inner Freedom

Inner freedom is the capacity of individuals to assume the responsibility they have, making conscious adapted decisions.

IUnicist Ontology of Inner Freedomnner freedom can be earned by those individuals who are able to assume the responsibility for their adapted actions in an environment being able to leave aside their own needs when making decisions.

People have lost their freedom when needs drive their actions.

Therefore, inner freedom is something people gain step by step, if they are able to pay the prices, or lose step by step, if they need to impose their rules.

It can be said that inner freedom is a utopia when instinctive needs, emotional needs and social values are sort of inhibitors for inner freedom.

Individuals who achieved inner freedom can make accurate decisions based on their capacity to do and to discriminate their inside from the outside which allows them to assume the individual, social and transcendent responsibility.

Building Corporate Universities as Unicist Business Objects

In-company Corporate Universities are an extremely powerful business object to promote growth and measurable monetary results.

Originally, they were derived from academic and training activities providing know-how to the members of organizations. But some differentiated technological companies began to use them also to expand their businesses. Thus Corporate Universities began to work as business objects.

The Unicist Research Institute developed Corporate Universities as business objects, integrating the three objects that define their functionality:
1)    The driving object for know-how transfer
2)    The catalyzing object to accelerate actions in the market
3)    The gravitational object to structure authoritative differentiation in the market

The driving object needs to be developed in operational/analytical language in order to deal with the business operation.

The catalyzing object needs to be developed in analytical/scientific language in order to deal with the innovative technology that is behind the operation.

The gravitational object needs to be developed in conceptual language in order to deal with the nature that underlies a business.

The lack of know-how defines the need for the driving function. This function becomes unnecessary as soon as the know-how has been acquired.

It has to be considered that innovation sustains the use of social catalysts and catalyzing objects. The catalyzing effect disappears when an innovation has been adopted by the environment. Therefore, catalysts need to be replaced when they are “worn out”.

Gravitational objects are stable because the essential aspects of businesses imply an endless discovering process.

Power and knowledge have an extremely conflictive relationship. That is why Corporate Universities are contraindicated for power centered businesses.

We want to remark that In-Company Corporate Universities designed as Business Objects have to be learning and not teaching centered.

(Based on the research on In-company Corporate Universities)

Healthcare businesses have to be adaptive as never before

Businesses are, by definition, adaptive systems that need to evolve in an adapted way in an environment. Therefore, knowledge is essential to manage businesses.

Ontology-of-the-knowledge-of-adaptive-systemsKnowledge implies having the necessary information to make decisions and implement them in order to generate a business.

Reliable knowledge can be achieved when the fundamental knowledge and the technical analytical knowledge have been acquired.

Fundamental analysis is the approach that defines the limits of the possibilities of the evolution of a given reality. Fundamentals define the boundaries implicit in the functionality of such reality.

Technical analysis deals with the cause-effect relation between “variables” that have been identified making a systemic compromise.

The discovery of the Unicist Ontology of Evolution and the structure of concepts that regulate the evolution of living beings and their deeds, established the structure for fundamental analysis integrating it with technical analysis in order to develop reliable knowledge to adapt in a smooth way to reality.

Who can manage ontological solutions for Adaptive Systems?

Simple thinking is unicist thinking. To deal with unicist ontological solutions individuals have to need to produce results and have a basic solution in their minds.

unicist-thinkingAn individual can only apprehend an ontological algorithm to manage an adaptive system if s/he can recognize it.

To recognize it the individual needs to have the concept of a solution in order to be able to compare it with the solution provided by the ontological algorithm.

People who have problems and not solutions in their minds cannot recognize ontologies. They need to rationalize them, transforming them into rationalisms.

Unicist algorithms are only necessary to manage adaptive systems. They are unnecessary for administrative functions.

An analogy will explain the difference between both. An administrative system is a simple procedure that uses forward-chaining thinking approaches:

1 + 1 = 2 is a simple administrative system that is solved by knowing how the adding process has to be done.

On the other hand, adaptive systems are complex. Their elements are interdependent and the only observable behaviors are their results:

2 = ∞ alternatives. This means that an individual has to find the best solution that achieves the result. This implies working with backward-chaining thinking approaches.

Backward thinking implies being able to think from the end to the beginning. Consider a mounting line. It is the capacity of an individual to decompose the final “product” into its components.

An ontological approach to adaptive clinical trials

Human cures belong to the field of complexity sciences. Complexity sciences have been developed to research the field of adaptive systems.

The “Learn and Confirm” method started by Wyeth introduced an implicit ontological approach to clinical trials’ work process considering them as adaptive systems.

Complex adaptive systems need to be researched with a “learn and confirm” method.  The objective is to end the research having discovered the foundations of the behavior of an adaptive system.

Ontological research action is based on real experiencing. That is what clinical trials do. They try to confirm the foundations that have been given as valid. To do so they need to be based on secure knowledge to allow learning in the field the knowledge is being acquired.

This process needs to be recycled until the foundations are secure. This is what adaptive clinical trials are about.

Simple thinking is the key for business growth

Simple thinking in decision making can be described as integrating the necessary mental amplitude and depth of thought in order to focus on solving a problem. Having sound knowledge of a reality is a precondition for simple thinking.

unicist-ontology-simple-thinkingSimple thinking implies focusing on a solution and not being concerned about a problem.

It requires having assumed the responsibility of solving a problem.

Easy thinking implies using pre-concepts to make decisions. In this case “the answers precede the questions”.

Complicated thinking happens when individuals cannot apprehend a reality because they do not have the necessary mental amplitude, depth of thought and focus.

In this case they make a complicated rational construction or an oversimplification to avoid responsibilities.

When facing uncertainty an individual cannot begin thinking in a simple way. Simple thinking will allow her/him to solve the problem after having learned about that reality. Simple thinking can only be developed by those who have conscious experiences in a field. Benchmarking is a simple thinking process or an easy fallacious solution.

Successful benchmarking requires having experienced the homologous and analogous activities that are being benchmarked.

Simple thinking is the key for business strategies. Maximal strategies, which happen beyond the limits of the actual business, require simple approaches.
