The Functionality of Languages in Business

The languages people use should not be depending on the person but on the subject and the environment an individual is dealing with. Languages provide the code to reason things in order to make adaptive decisions. It has to be clarified that human intelligence is the tool humans have to decide how to better adapt to a specific environment.

The research in the field of businesses drove to the definition of two different types of businesses: those that work as closed systems and those that work as open systems.

Businesses as closed systems

The businesses that work as closed systems have a fully controlled environment to deal with, and therefore there is no need of managing languages that deal with the ambiguity or the complexity of the environment.

The basic languages that are used in these types of organizations are the operational language and the analytical language that suffice to manage controlled environments. The operational language is for the activities that deal with operation and the analytical language is necessary to control processes.

Both aspects are sustained by mathematical language to manage efficiency and statistical language to manage the uncertain aspects of the business.

These organizations are effective when the four dominant languages are integrated, meaning that analytical works are sustained by mathematical support and operational works are sustained by statistical approaches to solve uncertainties.

Operation research, system dynamics are examples of the applications of these languages in these types of organizations.

Businesses as open (adaptive) systems

A system is adaptive when it is feedback dependent. Business that work as adaptive systems are integrated in the environment with requires managing ambiguous language to deal with the adaptive aspects, synthetic language to define and manage the concepts of the business functions, factual language to solve complex problems, diplomatic language to manage the conflicts with the environment and figurative language to ensure the consensus of decisions.

It has to be considered that the languages needed to manage businesses as adaptive systems include the operational, analytical, mathematical and statistical languages to ensure that the adaptive and non-adaptive aspects are managed.

The use of languages require that each business function is managed using the necessary language to “read” reality without perception fallacies to ensure the functionality of the decisions.

Unicist linguistics includes the use of the unicist standard language that is a metalanguage that allows integrating the use of languages to ensure the adaptability of the business processes and the assurance of results.

As the unicist standard language is a language integrator, it is dysfunctional for people who are “monolingual”.

Market Growth: Ensuring the Commercial Critical Mass of Businesses

Having the necessary critical mass to influence the market is necessary to build structural growth. Commercial critical mass uses the fundamentals of social critical mass to build concrete commercial actions that allow influencing the market.

Commercial Critical MassSocial critical mass applied to marketing is the integration of:

  • Superior aesthetics, which implies satisfying the manifest and latent needs of the potential customers.
  • Superior influence which allows stimulating the buying process
  • Superior credibility which implies that the superior value propositions are sustained by an adequate authoritative context.

The commercial critical mass building integrates:

  • Installing superior product/service attributes that are perceived as attractive by the market.
  • Building product/service brand attributes to differentiate the value propositions and influence potential buyers..

Having a critical mass to influence buyers is a basic condition to be considered as the first choice in the mind of the potential buyer. To build commercial critical masses it is needed that the responsible person feels that s/he has a critical mass in the environment.

The time for fundamental analysis has come back

The European Crisis demonstrated a lack of risk management in the wide sense. Fundamental analysis has been left aside. Fundamental analysis is based on the ontological structures of a functional entity and allows forecasting its behavior. When it is integrated with technical analysis it provides fully reliable information for risk management.

Fundamental analysis was an early technology to manage opportunities and risks, but mathematical solutions were consistent enough to displace and transform it into a subjective and perhaps intuitive approach to opportunity/risk management.

It has to be considered that human adaptive systems have a three dimensional structure following the ontogenetic intelligence of nature.

An ontological approach is necessary to deal with opportunities and risks in the field of adaptive systems in order to manage their three dimensional ontogenetic algorithms.

As it is known, mathematical models for adaptive systems are necessarily based on “ceteris paribus” or empirical solutions that are based on historical information with sophisticated projections.

That is why we consider that time has come to integrate technical analysis with fundamental analysis to provide reliable diagnoses and prognoses to the markets. This will surely prove a security framework that will bring relief to them.

The Unicist Institutional Maturity Model for Businesses

The maturity of an organization defines the company’s capacity for growth. The Unicist Institutional Maturity Model (UIMM) has been developed to define the type of strategies and architectures that can be used in a company. The higher the maturity level the more expansive a business can be.

This model is the synthesis of almost 40 years of applications in more than 500 organizations and thousands of individuals, which allowed confirming that the individual work culture and the business culture are defined by the work / business processes that are being used.

As it is known, the Unicist Standard was developed to manage the adaptiveness of human actions in the individual, institutional and social fields. It establishes the basic fundamentals that need to be managed in any adaptive process.

The Unicist Maturity Standard has been developed to define the maturity of work processes in the individual and business field in order to define the critical mass an individual or organization has to influence the environment to grow. Growth implies going beyond existing boundaries, which implies “globalization” within a country or in the world.

B) Power driven Organizations

Their goal is to obtain profits following the subjective rules of their owners. They are entrepreneurial organizations driven by the need to follow the non-structured orders of the entrepreneurs.

2) Materialistic driven Institutions

Their everyday activity is driven by the guidelines that are strictly followed to ensure the operational results.

3) Ideology driven Institutions

Their everyday activity is driven by strict rituals and methods that materialize the ideology. They establish a defined path to behave within the rules.

4) Value driven Institutions

Their everyday activity is driven by the methodologies they have. They are strict in the application of their methodologies, which implicitly include the vision of their activity.

5) Transcendence driven Institutions

In a transcendence driven institution the institutional vision is used in everyday activity. It has flexible methodologies to apply the vision but strict methods to follow the operational rules.

The maturity of an organization evolves based on the functionality and success of its rules and procedures. The flexibility of its business processes is a consequence of having achieved an adequate reliability level in the application of the methods.

The Unicist Methodology to Research Human Adaptive Systems

The observation room for the Market Labs has been launched. It allows newcomers to become acquainted with the unicist complexity science research methodology. The Market Lab research is coordinated by Diana Belohlavek.

The methodology

There is a general research methodology that has to be followed to define the validity of a unicist ontological structure that is needed to deal with human adaptive systems.

The basic steps are:

  1. Develop the hypothetical structure of the ontology.
  2. Analyze the ontology and divide it into sub-ontologies following the laws of complementation and supplementation (only when necessary and possible).
  3. Define observable results that need to be considered to validate the ontology.
  4. Define the application fields of the ontology to validate its functionality.
  5. Develop the applications beginning with destructive and non-destructive pilot tests to forecast reality.
  6. Develop at least five experiences in the application field differing completely one from the other.
  7. Develop forecasts of at least three periods with full certainty.
  8. Restart the research process every time a deviation occurs.

Pilot Testing

Unicist Ontologies are omnipotent fantasies unless they have been tested. The testing of ontologies implies testing their functionality and requires a precise design of the tests. The “trial and error” use of objects is not a pilot test.

Pilot tests are the drivers of the unicist reflection processes. Pilot tests have two objectives:

  1. Falsification of knowledge
  2. Validation of knowledge

1) Falsification – Destructive testing

Falsification, in the field of complex problems, implies finding the limits of the validity of a given knowledge. To do so, it is necessary to develop experiences in homologous fields until the limits of validity are found. It defines the unified field that can be apprehended.

The falsification process is a destructive test for knowledge that is applied to realities with incomplete homologies. The destruction occurs when a condition is found to demonstrate the fallacy of the knowledge.

2) Validation – Non-destructive testing

Validation implies the factual confirmation of the validity of knowledge. Validation is achieved when knowledge suffices to exert influence on a reality in a predictable way.

Unicist Market Expansion: The confrontation of conquest

The natural path for innovations is the confrontation of conquest.

A confrontation of conquest begins when a new product with no synergy with the pre-existing products is launched. There is also a confrontation of conquest when new markets are sought.

When the products that have been launched do not belong to an existent category and satisfy non manifested needs, the confrontation of conquest begins with the weakening of some occupied niches to introduce the new product (guerrilla confrontation).

The unicist confrontation of conquest requires an empty space occupying strategy when non manifested needs are being satisfied.

The confrontation of conquest requires beginning with niches, continuing with segments and finally covering the market.

Confrontation of conquest implies a differentiation based on a strong preexistent credibility.

The Confrontation of Conquest fails when differentiation is not perceived by the market or when the influence cannot sustain the credibility of the proposal.

Conquest is based on:

  • Empty space occupation
  • Speed
  • Credibility

The first step to conquer is the occupation of empty spaces. The confrontation of market conquest begins based on the positioning in these niches.

To do so there is need for a previous action to open these niches. The action requires a non evident functional or ethical flank attack of the competitors’ solutions. Competition is lost if this flank attack is perceived.

A key factor in this confrontation is having a superior speed than that of the market leader. Higher speed is necessary to penetrate. If conquerors are slower than the market leaders they will just accumulate wishes and costs.

The conquest of markets is based on credibility. First choice positioning can only be achieved having a brand with the necessary objective and subjective attributes.

Thus empty spaces can be occupied with highly differentiated products and having a superior speed than the market defendant.

When a war of conquest is lost, the conqueror becomes a marginal competitor in that market.

b)      The participation in LinkedIn can only be done from Monday to Friday.

c)      The core of the activity is the participation in the discussion of the groups using “exclusively” the unicist debate technology to build social capital by competing and cooperating.

d)     The division of the roles in LinkedIn:
-Relationship building with potential clients.
-Relationship building with potential providers.

6) B2B direct marketing is the natural tool to give access to the greatest scientific breakthrough in the field of adaptive behavior of individuals, businesses and cultures.

7) The low profile of Peter Belohlavek needs to be changed towards an “extreme high profile” as the scientist who led the major research work in the field of evolution and human adaptive systems from physics and biology to social sciences. It is needed to provide the authorship of what is behind the technologies that are provided. (This is still at the beginning stage and a Committee has been constituted to ensure this goal. The era of multiplication is now installed in the UC and the UHC. It was based on the benchmark of the multiplication in research (TURI). It is already working.

This implies that all “power driven organizations” are being left aside unless they make a turnaround in “one shot” (homologous to what we have done); they cannot be transparent or reliable; subjectivism needs to prevail in this type of organizations. This is the final stage of the global strategy of the Unicist Group.

Information for Newcomers – Adaptive Automation Business

Today, as scheduled, the Unicist Confederation started its “multiplication” process. It implies building a worldwide organization that is able to deal with dynamic (complex) and not only static (simple) problems. This is an approach that can only be managed by leaders.

LeadershipAs it is self-evident, leading requires adapting, which implies dealing with complex adaptive problems and transforming them into simple solutions that can be followed by dualistic minds.

Going beyond dualism requires activating neural circuits until individuals can use their “gamma” waves to apprehend and adaptive aspect of reality it its functional oneness. “Alpha” waves are the “stars” of dualistic thinking and “Beta” waves are its “heavy duty workers”.

This logical approach is based on the main discoveries we made in the field of the drivers of individual behavior: conceptual thinking, integrative logic, double dialectical logic, ethical intelligence, logical thinking, strategic intelligence, fallacies and collective intelligence.

This requires a personal decision; it is not a business decision. Leaders need to use the double dialectical logic in order to develop reasonable, understandable and provable solutions that can be used by dualistic thinking followers.

It has to be considered that followers do not need to adapt; they just over-adapt by dominance, submission or opposition. Leadership is the world of having the foundations of what has been decided and not only the justifications.

Followers, by definition, judge the leaders to achieve the perception that they are in power. Please recall the saying “eat excrements; millions of flies cannot be wrong”. Results are the only acceptable judges in the field of complex adaptive solutions.

As this is a personal question you have to become a user at a personal level before you can consider transferring the use to the business world. It is like any other universal approach: mathematics, language, etc. It demands time, because a new neural activity needs to be activated until it becomes a habit.

We know that professional education fosters dualism and inhibits integrative thinking. People are taught to seek for answers instead for the questions that drive to the answers. This inevitably produces dualism: right or wrong.

Please bear in mind that the unicist logical approach is a breakthrough for leaders but a meaningless complication for followers.

Here, at the Unicist Confederation, you follow no-one; that is why it is a Confederation; what needs to be defined is your role in the organization.

This is a business objects and client centered organization of doers, developed by doers and for doers. You only have to follow an “object” during the learning processes but only until you achieved your “adolescence” in a specific field.
