Patient Centered Management Technology as a Service

The technology of "Patient-Centered Management" (PCM) is an organizational model for quality improvement and energy saving in healthcare organizations. The discovery of the conceptual structures of medical specializations, patients, diseases and therapeutics allowed developing the patient centered organization that optimizes healthcare processes. It allows expanding medical influence beyond the walls of hospitals and clinics to improve the quality of life of the community. These technologies are provided as a service (TaaS) and the solutions are developed by the clients or by Unicist Think Tanks that are integrated with members of the client.

Unicist Think Tanks

Unicist Think Tanks are organized with members of the client. They develop the solutions based on the TaaS provided by The Unicist Research Institute. The IP of the final solution belongs to the client.

Patient Centricity

Patient Centricity allows empowering the work processes in healthcare institutions. It is homologous to client centered management which is the natural model to guide work processes in businesses that was developed in the eighties.

PCM needs to be integrated with the personalized organizational model and the natural business model that corresponds to the type of healthcare organization.

The purpose of the model is to assure results, its action is driven by patient orientation and there is a quality assurance that sustains the value added.

The Organization of Patient Centricity

The information technology that sustains the PCM implies the integration of the three concepts that underlie healthcare IT:

  • EMR, to sustain physicians activities
  • EHR, to deal with the diseases
  • EPR, to provide a safety environment for patients

Based on the functional and legal context, this integration works in a different way in each culture.

The PCM provides a conceptual structure of rules that makes an optimal integration of these IT solutions possible and introduces the concept of adaptive interfaces in order to ensure working with the feedback.

Object Driven Organization

Patient Centered Management

Patient Centered Management includes the following systems: Overall Effectiveness Indicators, Evidence Based Medicine, Quality Assurance, Reliability, Performance Management, Communication and Adaptive EHR.

PCM implies an object driven organization which allows ensuring quality while accelerating the work processes. This organization integrated medical objects that are a special type of knowledge objects to support decision making and actions in the healthcare business.

The knowledge included in the medical objects is, on the one hand, therapeutics driven and, on the other hand, diagnostics driven.

This defines four basic medical objects:

  • Experience based objects
  • Evidence based objects
  • Inference based objects
  • Destructive tests based objects

These objects are necessary to manage the therapeutic process considering both the curative and palliative aspects.

PCM includes adaptive interfaces in order to manage the feedbacks in the EMR and the EHR. Depending on the type of organization, there are different levels of adaptive interfaces to manage the feedback.

Unicist TAAS

The concept of technologies as a service was developed to make unicist business technologies accessible to all companies, because there is no need to invest in technologies since they are paid by the results they produce. Unicist business technologies have been developed to deal with the concepts of businesses emulating the organization of nature. The Unicist Corporate University is organized to provide the necessary education to manage the unicist technologies as a service and to manage their implementation.

Technologies as a service uses the outsourcing of services, where the new technologies are applied, as the way to introduce the innovation. This outsourcing simplifies the introduction of the technologies and accelerates the speed of implementation. Any new technology implies a change of processes that requires a change of roles that drives towards a change of habits. This is a process that requires time. The outsourcing process is what gives the organization the necessary time to manage the change of habits.

Virtual Collaboration

Unicist Virtual Collaboration defines the framework of the program. It implies that virtual communication tools are being used to sustain the real solution building processes and the development of the micro-clinics. It is based on the use of the triadic approach to the nature of business processes that is based on the unicist ontologies that are provided by the UCU. This approach simplifies the processes using destructive pilot tests that sustain on the one hand the learning processes and, on the other hand, ensure the functionality of the solutions. This technology was developed at TURI to deal with development of solutions in adaptive environments.

Unicist Problem Solving

Systemic problems are closed entities defined by variables integrated by univocal cause-effect relationships. On the other hand, complex problems have, among other characteristics, open boundaries and have no variables with cause-effect relationships but interdependent elements with bi-univocal relations integrated by the conjunction “AND”. In the business world, complex problems need to be transformed into systemic problems in order to be manageable based on cause-effect relationships. Every problem that deals with reality is complex because the relationship between the problem and the environment necessarily generates a feedback. However, a problem can be treated as systemic when the influence of the feedback is predictable or irrelevant. This is the case of the implantation of solutions of business problems.

Logical Systems

The Unicist Logical Systems are based on a triadic approach that allows dealing with the dynamic of the business functions that allows building structural solutions and makes the management of adaptive systems possible. Implementation

The implementation process of unicist technologies is made by development groups integrated by members of the Weston Corporate University and of the clients. These development groups design the prototype of the solutions based on the use of the prototyper provided by The Unicist Research Institute. This process is managed by the Weston Corporate University that assumes the responsibility of providing the unicist technologies to the participants, guide the development of the prototype of the solution and ensure its functionality. If needed, the development of the prototype can be outsourced.
